Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb

University of Zagreb is the oldest university in Croatia. The first academy in Zagreb was founded in 1669, while modern university with four faculties was founded in 1874. Today there are 34 faculties at the University, with more than 60,000 students altogether.

The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is the biggest faculty at the University offering more than 100 study programs. Students can explore various fields of humanities (history, archaeology, philosophy, ethnology, anthropology, history of art, languages, literature, linguistics) and social sciences (psychology, sociology, information sciences, pedagogy).

How to reach the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences?

The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is located in the wider city center and is within walking distance from the central city Ban Jelačić Square (Trg bana Jelačića). This walk would take you approximately 30 minutes. map

From the central square, you can also reach the Faculty by tram number 13 traveling in the direction of Savišće. You need to exit at tram station Sveučilišna aleja on Vukovar Street (Ulica grada Vukovara). Walking south from the tram station along Ivan Lučić Street (Ulica Ivana Lučića) for approximately 5 minutes, you will see the Faculty building on the left side, behind a large parking site. map

From the central train station (Glavni kolodvor), the easiest way to reach the Faculty is by foot. This walk will take you approximately 10 minutes. map

From the central bus station (Autobusni kolodvor) tram number 5 will take you directly to the tram station Sveučilišna aleja, from where you can walk to to Faculty. map
